    The beaches of Lake Idro

    It is pleasant to spend your holidays at Lake Idro, as this emerald green lake between Lombardy and Trentino offers unforgettable moments of relaxation and sporting activities. Indeed, this Alpine lake is great for swimming and offers good opportunities for water sports.

    Along the entire perimeter of Lake Idro there are several small beaches, some very popular, others more secluded. All beaches have free access and are suitable for children as the water depth slopes slowly. Moreover, to the delight of four-legged friends, dogs are allowed on all beaches on Lake Idro.

    Here you can see where you can swim at Lake Idro:

    • Anfo beach:

    on the western shore of the lake, near the imposing Rocca d’Anfo is the ‘Spiaggetta’, a pebble beach with an area for picnics. Here it is also possible to rent pedal boats, canoes, windsurfing and e-bikes to explore the lake area. A few steps away, near Imbarcadero, is another beach with a slipway for launching boats. You will find restaurants, pizzerias and a beach kiosk here. The ferry Idra also docks here. Dog-friendly.

    • Vesta Beach:

    perhaps the most famous, located on the northeast shore of the lake, is a pretty beach with a kiosk. It is easy to find as the road stops right there. The Contrabbandieri, Tralicci and Sasse ferrata trails start from the beach, and the ferry docks at the jetty. Dog-friendly.

    • Ponte Caffaro beach:

    north of the lake, in the municipality of Bagolino, is a long beach with green grass and gravel divided between ‘Pian d’Oneda’ and ‘Al Ross’. There are several facilities, including a bar, restaurant, playground, kitesurfing school and bike rental. Ferry stop available. Dog-friendly.

    • Baitoni beach:

    lies to the north on the Trentino coast and is divided between Porto di Camarelle beach, close to the mountain, and the long, narrow Idroland beach. There are amenities such as bar/restaurants and canoe and pedal boat rentals. Dog-friendly and the ferry docks here.

    Besides the famous Vesta beach in Idro, other beaches include:

    • Crone beach: a free beach with lawn and pebbles adjacent to a shady playground. Facilities nearby: restaurants, ice cream parlour, bar, public toilets, cycle path, free parking, park with picnic area, fountain with drinking water and boat mooring. Dog-friendly;
    • Lemprato beach: free beach with lawn and pebbles, large shaded playground and beach volleyball court. Facilities: ice cream parlour, bar, pizzeria, beer garden, kiosk by the lake and bike path, parking. Dog-friendly. From here you can enjoy stunning views of the lake stretching northwards through the mountains, up to a glimpse of the Brenta Dolomites.
    • Loc. Vantone Sud: free beach with pebbles. Possibility of parking;
    • Loc. Parole: free beach with pebbles, with a beautiful wooded park. Possibility of parking.
    • In Pieve Vecchia, on the other hand, there is a green area equipped with tables, benches and a barbecue as well as a playground. From here you can venture on foot towards Anfo along a path along the lake.

    There is something for everyone and bathing in Lake Idro is relaxing and safe because here, with the exception of the boat, only small boats with engines under 10 ps are allowed.

    My favourite…mmmmm I’ll keep that to myself
