The Rocca d’Anfo is a fortified military complex built in the fifteenth century by the Republic of Venice in the municipality of Anfo, on Lake Idro, in the Valle Sabbia.

Built on the slope of Monte Censo, on an area of 50 hectares, the Rocca d’Anfo was remodeled and enlarged in different periods by the military engineers of Napoleone Bonaparte, Giuseppe Zanardelli and by the Italian Military Engineer. La Rocca is the largest Napoleonic fortress in Italy.

The Rocca d’Anfo site is owned by the state, under concession to the Lombardy Region for its safety and enhancement. The Valle Sabbia Mountain Community has been managing it since 2015, opening it to guided tours
