    Val Vestino, where the grass greener grows and the sky bluer than ever.

    A short distance from Lake Idro you go back in time in this valley. Where the grass greener grows and the sky bluer than ever. Beautiful meadows to look out for miles over the rolling hills. A real discovery of nature, culture and history.

    There are seven villages in Val Vestino that are all worth a visit: Armo, Bollone, Cadria (the smallest), Magasa, Moerna, People, Turano. The village of Cima Rest was also born with the renovation of the old houses.

    In the northern part of the Val Vestino lies the village of Cima Rest, in the municipality of Magasa.

    Here you can admire the typical thatched houses, the most famous feature of the Vestino valley. The Astronomical Observatory is located in Corva. To visit this observatory you must make a reservation.

    There are several tipical restaurants where you can eat delicious local dishes. I personally ate at Malga Corva (Cima Rest) for lunch. I highly recommend making a reservation to avoid going back without lunch. Delicious food and great views make a simple lunch an unforgettable experience.

    To visit;

    • Valvestino Ecomuseum
    • Old crafts: the old water mill of Turano
    • La Calchera
    • The “Venetian” sawmill
    • Don Pietro Porta Botanical Museum
    • Milk Museum
    • Etnograpich Museum
    • Astronomical observatory of Cima Rest

    I visited Val Vestino by bicycle (Ebike). With Idro as a starting point towards Capovalle and so on to discover the beautiful surroundings of this still untouched valley.
