The Rifugio Monte Stino has been completely restored and opened its doors in 2014, on the top of Monte Stino mountain. It is located on the border between Lake Idro and Lake Garda.
This beautiful rifugio is visited by both local residents and tourists.
The friendly owners offer local dishes such as meat and cheese platters, pizzoccheri, tagliatelle with mushrooms or game sauce and vegetable soup. Polenta with salmi, stewed beef, scaloppine, mushrooms, salami and grilled cheese. Delicious fresh and mature local cheeses. Homemade cakes and biscuits.
A cosy space with about 50 seats inside and 30 seats outside spread over two terraces.
Monte Stino is ideal for hikers of all kinds, given the various routes that surround this beautiful area. All kinds of sports can be practised here, such as Nordic walking, cycling, motorcycling, quad biking, mountain biking, paragliding, cross-country skiing (approved loop of 5 km).
And not to forget the trenches and tunnels from the First World War with the fantastic viewpoint over Idro Lake, only 5 minutes walk from the rifugio parking.
On Monte Stino photography lovers can enjoy the rare species of fauna and flora and the fantastic panoramas.
Accessible by car, motorbike, bicycle or on foot.
From the car park of the rifugio there is a view of the Veronese shore of Lake Garda.
Rifugio Monte Stino does not offer overnight accommodations, and dogs are not allowed inside or on the terrace, but they can stay on the street side where food and drinks are available.
