Nordic walking in Val di Fumo with Eridio
Discover one of the most fascinating valleys in Trentino, accompanied by Nordic Walking guides who will teach you the secrets of this discipline
A place of clouds and mysteries, this is the origin of the name “Fumo” (smoke) of this spectacular valley on the border with Lombardy.
It is a valley of glacial origin at the foot of Carè Alto (3462 m. above sea level), where the springs of the River Chiese are located and a welcoming natural area (at 1998 m. above sea level), close to the malga where butter and cheese are made. The area is an excellent starting point for excursions in the Adamello group, at the sites of the White War (1915-18).
The Val di Fumo is the upper part of the long and interesting Valle di Daone, which is visited for its mushrooms, flowers and animals, but also for its numerous “malghe” (shepherd’s huts) and is famous for its waterfalls – even those that are frozen in winter – and is for this reason a destination for ice climbing.
